While resources may have a preferred specialty in either User Experience Research or User
Experience Interaction Design, the unpredictability of project mix over
time requires that each of our UX consultants be able to “flex” across both
aspects of UX work. Project assignments may require User Experience Generalists
to conduct quantitative
and qualitative research with Lilly employees using methods such as surveys,
card sorting, task observation, and interviews. UX consultants will analyze and
present insights derived from research and may develop wireframes or clickable
prototypes to be leveraged in further rounds of user research. In many
projects, UX consultants will produce high fidelity designs using InVision or similar
tools and will support the efforts of a development team building from their
designs by participating in Agile scrum ceremonies and answering questions.

In addition, a UX consultant may
be asked to facilitate or participate in design sprints or similar workshops to
progress project strategy, user research, and design. In order to effectively
operated independently or as part of a team to deliver high value UX services
on projects of significant complexity, UX consultants should have appropriate
education/certifications.
